A health career camp is open to students in sixth to eighth grades from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 17-21 at the Montana State University-Billings' College of Technology and St. Vincent Healthcare.
Students will meet and interact with a variety of medical experts and healthcare professionals, get first-hand experience in medical training, learn how the medical community responds when disaster strikes, be challenged to apply what they learn in a mock disaster, learn about search and rescue techniques and emergency medicine, including ambulance, nursing care, helicopter and fire equipment and learn about techniques to respond to emergencies — man-made and naturally occurring.
By gaining exposure to the medical field, students will become familiar with training opportunities in healthcare and will discover educational and career opportunities in Billings.
The $195 cost includes a T-shirt, materials, lunches and snacks. For information or registration, call 896-5890.
