With the busy days of summer, the Heights Neighborhood Task Force will be holding a brief meeting this month so that we can check in with all of our committees and bring up any issues that we need to address at this time.
It was great to see the wa-ter turned on at the spray pad at Castle Rock Park, and everyone enjoyed Mayor Ron Tussing getting wet and sharing in the fun!
Has anyone noticed the road construction? At one point, almost every major arterial street in the Heights had a detour!
While frustrating, it did give some of us a chance to go four-wheeling through a horse pasture while others have found side streets and alternate routes to get around some of the road blocks. In any event, it seems we all need to add extra time to get anywhere.
With school out for the summer, and traffic being channeled through our neighborhoods, please make sure to slow down and watch for children.
As always, if you can't make the task-force meeting on Tuesday, June 27, at 7 p.m. in the Castle Rock Middle School Library, then call me at 254-0166 or email me at HeightsTF@denispitman.com.
Have a great and safe Fourth of July, and remember that the price of our freedom is the active involvement of all of us in our government and community.
P.S.: My daughter reminded me that, even though school is out we can still be "caught being good!"
Denis Pitman is chairman of the Heights Neighborhood Task Force.
