Thursday's likely to be an average day in Billings as far as the weather goes.
The forecast calls for a high temperature of 77 degrees, just a touch above the daily average of 74, according to the National Weather Service in Billings.
Skies should be sunny as well, with a light southwest wind of 9 mph.
Overnight looks to be pretty average as well, with clear skies and an evening low of 43 predicted, a little less than the average of 48.
While everything looks to be calm and mild in Billings for the day, the eastern fifth of Montana, including Miles City and Glendive, is under a red flag warning until 8 p.m.
The warning, issued by the NWS, cautions that gusty winds of up to 25 mph and humidity levels of 10 to 15 percent create the potential for quick, explosive fire growth.
It'll warm up a bit on Friday, with an expected high of 88 degrees and more sunny skies. During the evening, the NWS expects a low of 51 with mostly clear skies.
