U.S. Highway 212 just south of Laurel will be closed for portions of June 19-21 to allow the CHS Laurel Refinery to install a new bridge over the highway.
According to a CHS news news release, the bridge will service a new electrical substation and carry workers and electrical power between the substation and the refinery.
Its installation will close Highway 212 from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. June 19 and again beginning at 7 p.m. June 20. Highway 212 will reopen at 7 a.m. June 21 as the bridge is lifted into place.
Traffic will be rerouted along a posted detour.
CHS and local officials are working to ensure the bridge lift will not impact areas affected by recent flooding along the Yellowstone River.
The project is scheduled for completion by mid-summer.
