Hot temperatures and extremely dry conditions will return for Friday with a high of 91 degrees and sunny skies expected in the Billings area, the National Weather Service said. Southerly winds will be up to 10 mph. Friday night will be mostly clear with a low of 50 degrees.
The NWS also issued a hazard outlook for central, southcentral and southeastern Montana and northcentral Wyoming because of the hot and dry conditions. Hunters, campers and other people pursuing outdoor activities should use extra caution to avoid starting fires that could grow out of control.
A little cooler weather will return for the weekend, with a high of 87 degrees and sunny skies forecast for Saturday and a low of 50 degrees. There is a slight chance for showers on Sunday, which is expected to be sunny with a high of 69 degrees and a low of 43 degrees.
