Laurel shop destroyed by fire

The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department used foam to suppress a fire in a shop at 76th Street West and King Avenue. The call came in just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The fire was extinguished about an hour later.

The two-bay shop was located adjacent to a house, which was not damaged in the fire. The roof of the metal building collapsed during the fire.

The contents of the shop, including a truck and an ATV were destroyed.

The cause of the fire was classified as electrical, said Scott Wilm, Laurel Fire Department chief.
