Lightning struck the roof of a home and ignited a fire that caused an estimated $15,000 in property damage Friday morning, according to the Billings Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 4250 N. Carlton Ave. SW at about 5:42 a.m., according to a press release from the Billings Fire Department.

"Fire damage was contained to the roof and attic at the front of the structure," the release states.
The home was occupied by one adult but they were uninjured. The property and its contents were uninsured, according to the release.
