Carlo's Carnival is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harvest Church in Lockwood at 1413 Rosebud Lane. All proceeds will go toward the adoption of Carlo, age 9. He has been in a government orphanage his whole life.
There is a traditional Filipino dinner catered by Mia's Lumpia for $10 a person or $25 a family, live music, a silent auction and raffle (must be present to win), games and activities for all ages and miniature pony-drawn cart rides (weather permitting).
Carlo is being adopted through the Summer of Hope program, which brings children over from the Philippines for a summer camp experience, hoping to find them forever families.
Summer of Hope focuses on children who are at risk for not being adopted due to age, sibling group size, and/or medical conditions and looking at a future on the streets.
