Fire consumed the cab of a semi-tractor parked outside of a Lockwood residence Tuesday afternoon, and firefighters are investigating the cause.
According to Lockwood Fire District engineer and acting Cpt. Karim Eshbaugh, neighbors heard two explosions and saw flames near a Rosebud Lane residence about 4 p.m., prompting them to call 911.
Eshbaugh said firefighters knocked down flames within about five minutes of their arrival at the residence, which sits a block east of the Ponderosa Pines Health Care.

There were initial concerns that the burning cab, sitting in the driveway of a home, might damage the garage or other structures, but Eshbaugh said all damage was contained to the parked vehicle.
Flames left much of the cab's framework exposed and charred, indicating that the vehicle is likely beyond repair.
Eshbaugh guessed that the two explosions might have been popping tires. He said he did not know the cause of the fire but stated that the Lockwood Fire District would continue to investigate.
