For the second year in a row, Magic — a lifestyle magazine produced by Billings Gazette Communications — took the state’s top honor as best niche publication during the annual Montana Newspaper Association meeting June 14 in Butte.
The magazine, led by Editor-in-Chief Allyn Hulteng, took top honors for its overall excellent work.
“Photography and articles are top notch,” said judges in their comments. “Very classy.”
Last year, the magazine took top awards for its look at the effects of the Bakken oil boom on Eastern Montana and Billings.
“We work hard to capture the essence of our remarkable community through stories covering the gamut from thought-provoking to spirited,” said Hulteng. “Billings is a wonderful place, and we have so many more great stories to tell.”
Each issue of Magic offers features on intriguing people, business, health and wellness, arts and entertainment, fine living and more. Editorial staff includes Creative Director Bob Tambo, Senior Editor Brittany Cremer, Assistant Editor Brenda Maas, along with the photography staff of The Billings Gazette.
Now in its 11th year of publication, the magazine can be found at The Billings Gazette and numerous racked locations throughout the city. For more information, log on to www.magiccitymagazine.com.
