Ambulance

One person died Friday night in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 3 in Billings, about two miles west of Zimmerman Trail.

The crash, reported to the Montana Highway Patrol just after 10:45 p.m., involved a man whose I.D. contained a Laurel address, driving a white 1993 Ford Ranger.

MHP Trooper David Hankins said the man was driving northbound when the pickup veered off the roadway to the right. The driver over-corrected when he tried to return to the road and the vehicle went into a broadside slide before rolling.

The driver, alone in the pickup, was taken by ambulance to Billings Clinic. The man died either en route to the hospital or once he arrived, Hankins said.

Speed and alcohol are both suspected as factors in the crash, the trooper said. The man's identity has not yet been released.
