A man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning after the moped he was driving and a Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle collided.

The crash happened at about 6:45 a.m. at Sixth Street West and Central Avenue and shut down the intersection while emergency crews responded.

Billings Police Department Sgt. Jason Gartner said the man's injuries were not life-threatening. Before medics from American Medical Response loaded the man into an ambulance, he could be heard yelling out as they put him onto a stretcher.

Gartner said police were working to determine how the crash happened, if anybody is at fault and whether any citations will be issued.

Traffic was redirected around the intersection while police, ambulance and Billings Fire Department crews responded.
