A man was reportedly stabbed in his back and shoulder by an ex-girlfriend as he broke into her house early Sunday morning, according to the Billings Police Department.
Gered Vance Archuleta, 19, was later treated for his wounds at Billings Clinic before he was detained on charges of felony aggravated burglary and one count of misdemeanor partner or family member assault, a press release from Billings Police Sgt. Shane Winden stated.
The woman's grandmother and four children were home at the time of the reported break-in, Winden stated. The incident took place on the 3500 block of Second Avenue South.
"While police were en route, Archuleta broke through the front door, knocking the 30-year-old female to the ground," the release stated. "The female had armed herself with a knife and stabbed Archuleta in the shoulder and back before he retreated out of the residence."
A neighbor at a nearby house later called police after seeing Archuleta bleeding from his wounds.
As of Sunday afternoon, Archuleta was being held without bond in the Yellowstone County Detention Center.
