The Montana Department of Revenue’s Property Assessment field offices in Hysham and Forsyth will close permanently on Oct. 31.

According to a news release from the Montana Department of Revenue, the closures are part of the department’s move to streamline operations and best use its limited resources throughout the state. The closures are part of the department’s ongoing adjustment to the budget set by the Legislature last year.

After the closures, the Custer County field office in Miles City will handle the needs of Treasure County and Rosebud County property owners. That office is located at 1010 Main St., Suite 13, in Miles City and may also be reached by calling 406-232-1295.

The Carbon County field office will handle the needs of Big Horn property owners, which are currently handled by the Treasure County field office in Hysham. The Carbon County office is located at 23 N. Broadway Ave. in Red Lodge and may also be reached by calling 406-446-1223.

Anyone with questions related to property may call 406-444-6900 for assistance or go to revenue.mt.gov/contact.
