A dense fog that rolled in just before 6 this morning delayed some flights at Billings Logan International Airport.
Visibility was still good enough for early morning flights clustered around 6 a.m. to take off, but Delta and Horizon flights scheduled to leave around 7 a.m. were delayed. Fog had reduced visibility to .13 of a mile by then. It was at an eighth of a mile by 9 a.m. and was expected to lift around 10 a.m.
Albert Richmond, National Weather Service meteorologist, said low-level moisture combined with a southwesterly flow lifted fog off the Yellowstone River up to the Rim tops.
