Montana State University Billings named professor Susan Balter-Reitz as the interim vice provost for academic affairs.

Balter-Reitz takes the place of Matthew Redinger, who announced in February that he would leave to take a position at the University of Providence in Great Falls.

In addition to being a communications professor, Balter-Reitz is the director of e-learning at MSUB. She's been with the institution for 16 years, according to an MSUB release.

The vice provost for academic affairs works toward professional and disciplinary accreditations within the office of Robert Hoar, the university's provost. An MSUB release said that Balter-Reitz would continue her role as director of e-learning during this interim period.
