No hail is expected to fall on Billings Thursday, but afternoon rains or thunderstorms are possible.

The National Weather Service is calling for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon Thursday, and highs closing in on 78. A west southwest wind of 9 to 15 mph will switch to the north by afternoon.

Skies will be mostly cloudy and lows will fall to 45, Thursday night. The chance for a shower will increase slightly to 30 percent, and a north northeast wind of between 18 and 23 mph will drop to between 7 and 12 mph after midnight.

Temperatures will stay cool Friday, as highs top out at 62 degrees under partly sunny skies. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase up to 40 percent Friday, and east northeast winds of 9 to 13 mph will continue into the evening.

Skies will be mostly cloudy Friday night as lows fall to 44. A 40 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms is expected.
