A woman who died after jumping off a downtown parking garage Friday afternoon has been identified by the Yellowstone County Coroner's Office.

Deputy County Coroner Chad Fehr said the death of Beverly Cooper, 60, of Billings, was ruled a suicide after her co-workers found a note she left at work.

Police responded to a narrow, dead-end alley behind the Billings Police Department at about 2:30 p.m. Friday after a contract worker working in City Hall called and said there was a woman lying on the ground. Cooper fell from the top of the north side of the Park 3 parking garage on Second Avenue North and was declared dead at the scene.
