The Billings Police Department have identified a woman in connection with a possible shooting on Laurel Road.
The investigation began when a woman arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound on Tuesday morning.
Police have contacted an 18-year-old Billings woman in connection with a shooting, BPD Lt. Brandon Wooley said on social media. The shooting that injured a 20-year-old Billings woman may have been part of a disturbance in the area of 5112 Laurel Road, he said.
On Tuesday morning, at about 5:30 a.m., the 20-year-old woman showed up at an area hospital with a single gunshot wound. The investigation into the incident was announced in a social media post by BPD Sgt. Pat Curry shortly before 7 a.m.
No arrests had been made as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wooley said. The investigation is ongoing, but police did not believe there was a threat to the public related to the incident.
