Gary is an 8-year-old lab/Staffordshire terrier mix available for adoption through Help for Homeless Pets. The good-natured dog has been waiting a long time for a home. Gary is deaf, but he's also happy and friendly, with a unique personality. The playful pup loves his toys and enjoys car rides.
Gary would do best as the only pet in a home, but he would be okay with another larger dog. He gets along with dogs, but not cats. Because of his disability, a home with older children would be better for Gary.
He is house-broken, knows a few basic commands and is well-mannered. Gary is neutered, current on vaccinations and has been tested for heartworm.
Other wonderful adult dogs, puppies and two baby Guinea pigs are also available for adoption. HHP animals visit Tractor Supply in the Heights from 12:30 to 4 p.m. most Saturdays.
To adopt Gary for $95, contact Angie by calling 860-8735, or go to Help for Homeless Pets, located at 2910 Hannon Road. The shelter is open from 1 to 6 p.m. daily.
HHP needs donations of clean, towels, sheets blankets and quilts; cat and dog food, toys, leashes and collars; and many other items. Gift certificates to any hardware store for maintenance and repair projects are also appreciated. Financial donations may be made through the organization's GoFundMe page. Volunteers to help care for the animals, or to perform maintenance or general cleaning work are also welcome. Anyone interested in helping should text or call Ashley at 861-3342.
