Fritz and Bell are 13-year-old Pomeranians available for adoption through Help for Homeless Pets. The two small, senior dogs — along with Dixie, a large, one-eyed, 7-year-old Great Pyrenees mix — came to the shelter after their owner was no longer able to care for them.
The dogs are great with cats, kids and other dogs. They love to go for walks and rides. Fritz and Bell have been together all their lives and are extremely bonded to each other, so the pair cannot be separated and must go to their new retirement home together. They are very active and healthy, but will need some dental work. They are neutered/spayed and current on vaccinations.
Other dogs, many kittens and cats of various colors and breeds, and a young, lionhead rabbit are also available for adoption. HHP animals visit Tractor Supply in the Heights from 1 to 4 p.m. most Saturdays.
To adopt Fritz and Bell for $135, contact Angie by calling 860-8735, or go to Help for Homeless Pets, located at 2910 Hannon Road. The shelter is open from 1 to 6 p.m. daily.
HHP needs donations of clean towels, sheets, blankets and quilts, space heaters for cold winter days, as well as many other items to help care for animals. Gift certificates to any hardware store for maintenance and repair projects are also appreciated. Volunteers to help care for the animals, or to perform maintenance or general cleaning work are also welcome.
