About 230 seventh-graders from Joliet and Will James Middle School participated in an invasive species event at Riverfront Park on Tuesday.

Volunteers from 10 different organizations set up stations teaching students about noxious weeks, prairie dogs, watersheds, aquatic invasive species and more.

The inaugural event was organized by Megan Hoyer, education coordinator with the Yellowstone County Weed District and Pam Schwend of the Carbon County Weed District.
