The Salvation Army will host a Volunteer Appreciation Day event at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Park, 1950 Eighth Ave. North.
The event is designed to say thank you to the more than 2,500 volunteers who help run the Salvation Army’s local programs, including Community Table, bell-ringers, sandwich makers, Dress-a-Child, toy donors and sorters, interns, board members, backpack fillers, receptionists, janitors and others, according to a news release.
Volunteers help direct donor money straight into programs. The Salvation Army currently has a paid staff of four employees and two officers. Billings residents and businesses have supported the Salvation Army for 122 years.
