A vehicle fire in a South Side neighborhood Wednesday evening was intentionally set, according to the Billings Fire Department.
No one was injured in the fire on the 300 block of South 31st Street, but it appeared that an accelerant had been poured onto a 1998 Ford Explorer before it was ignited, according to a press release from Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Tatum.
The fire was reported just before 7 p.m.
It caused an estimated $2,500 in damage, burning the front, passenger side and top of the SUV, according to the press release. The property was insured.
