A student was arrested at West High School for disorderly conduct and obstructing and resisting arrest on Wednesday morning, said Billings Police Department spokesman Neil Lawrence.

School District 2 superintendent Terry Bouck said that he was aware of an incident that "escalated and it had to be diffused.” The school is reviewing the incident, he said.

Lawrence said the school resource officer responded to a disturbance in a classroom, which led to the arrest.

The student was taken to a local hospital after the incident.
