Montana State University Billings' keynote commencement speech will be delivered by an alumnus who founded a multi-million dollar credit information analysis company.

Chris Nelson graduated from what was then Eastern Montana College in 1978 with degrees in accounting and information systems. He went on to found the Bozeman-based Zoot Enterprises, which processes credit information for more than 350 million loan applications each year, according to an MSUB press release.

Zoot Properties LLC owned more than $25 million worth of property in Gallatin County in 2015, according to the Bozeman Chronicle. Nelson purchased the Northern Hotel with his brother Mike in 2009. Zoot announced that it planned to purchase the GE Capital Building in Billings in 2017.

MSUB's commence ceremony, which hands out associate, bachelor's and master's degrees and certificates, will be held at MetraPark on Saturday at 10 a.m.
