The Billings Community Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be held Friday.
Planted at the Billings Community Park, at First Avenue North and Division Street, in 1931 by the Billings Garden Club, the tree will be decorated with 1,500 lights.
Caroling led by the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming and hot chocolate begins at the park at 5 p.m. followed by a blessing at 5:30. The tree will be lit at 6 p.m.
Mayor Tom Hanel is the lighting's master of ceremonies.
Those attending the ceremony are encouraged to go to the annual Holiday Parade, which begins downtown at 7 p.m., afterward.
