Two women were arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the robbery of two Billings businesses and one has since escaped law enforcement custody, according to the Billings Police Department.

After the women were taken to City Hall for questioning, one of the women, Heather Thompson, 40, "during a brief period of time," was left unattended, and "walked out of a police department interview room," according to a press release written by BPD Lt. Neil Lawrence.

Police had yet to find Thompson as of 4:30 p.m. on Thursday but were actively looking for her, according to the release.

The release says that "Thompson is not considered armed or dangerous at this time." Anyone with information about her location is asked to contact the Billings Police Department at 657-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 245-6660.

After the robbery of the Western Executive Inn at 3121 King Ave. West at about 3 a.m. on Thursday morning, police located two women in a white passenger car. A white passenger car had been observed leaving the Lucky Lil's Casino at the Rimrock Mall after an attempted robbery on Wednesday night.

Meadow Lee Bighorn, 35, and Thompson were arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery.

During an interview the women admitted to "being involved in the robbery" of the Western Executive Inn and the Barrel Room Pub & Casino.

The Lucky Lil's robbery is still being investigated, police said.

Lawrence said it was about 6:30 a.m. when it was discovered Thompson had escaped.

"We'll do an internal review and see exactly what happened and if any changes need to be made or disciplinary action needs to be taken," Lawrence said.

Bighorn is being held in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility.

On Tuesday night a woman entered the Barrel Room bar and casino at 1027 Shiloh Crossing at 11:10 p.m. With a bandanna over her face, she pointed her hand, which was covered to look like a gun, at an employee and demanded money.

The woman was given an undisclosed amount of money before leaving on foot. No one was injured.

On Wednesday night shortly before 9 p.m. a woman entered the Lucky Lil's Casino at the Rimrock Mall. Wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black hat and a blue handkerchief tied over her face, she held an object in her hand "as if it was some type of weapon," according to a BPD press release issued about the incident.

She approached a casino employee and demanded money. The employee refused and the woman left, possibly in a white passenger car.

At the Western Executive Inn at about 3 a.m. on Thursday morning a suspect entered the hotel, threatened that they had a gun and demanded money. They left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the release.
