Melissa Carter and her daughter Aria received a 2002 Honda CR-V on Friday as part of the Underriner Motors Car Giveaway, a partnership between Underriner Motors and United Way of Yellowstone County.
"This is huge for me," Carter said.
Carter works for Family Services, and the car means she'll now be able to get to work with significantly fewer complications and get her daughter to child care. In the past, Carter has relied on friends and rode the bus as she worked through a string of broken-down cars.
She found out she was receiving the CR-V last week.
"I couldn't quit smiling," she said. "This is the best Christmas ever."
The back of the vehicle was loaded with gifts, gift cards, groceries and treats for the family.
The car donation was made possible by Bill and Mary Underriner, who are donors to the United Way's Tocqueville Society, and Underriner Motors employees. It's the sixth vehicle Underriner Motors has given out.
