Artful support

Plastic cups in a chain link fence spell out "Honor Flight" as West High School students walk the school track on May 13. Students raised money to send World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial.

Health enhancement students at Billings West High raised $11,372 to help support Big Sky Honor Flight of Montana. That is enough money to send 10 World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial.

For the second year, students in Krista Blomquist's classes have walked to support Big Sky Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization that sends World War II veterans free of charge to the nation's capital to see the National World War II Memorial.

The students raised more than twice what they did last year.

The fifth Big Sky Honor Flight is set for June 16-17.
