In addition to a residents celebrating Veterans Day on Thursday, Westpark Village Senior Living Community, at 2351 Solomon Ave., officially celebrated the end of a 10-month remodeling effort.
From January to October, Hardy Construction remodeled the facility, which has 179 apartments for independent and assisted living.
Executive Director Tina Vauthier said the residents were excited about the project and stayed flexible as the dining rooms, assisted-living apartments, office and lobby were remodeled.
Westpark, which was built in 1986, is owned and managed by The Goodman Group, based in Minneapolis. Sidney Goodman, now 90, began developing health care facilities, apartment and commercial properties in the mid-1960s, including in Billings. He flew into Billings for the ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, but was unavailable for an interview.
Vauthier praised The Goodman Group.
“They give back to the community, and we love that. A lot of property managers might not give the money back, they might keep the profits,” she said.
