White-supremacist fliers turned up on the doorsteps of a Billings neighborhood Wednesday, prompting complaints to the Police Department.
Police Sgt. Shawn Finnegan said the department had received a similar complaint from a resident on the 700 block of Avenue C. No crime is being committed with the flier drops, he said, "but a lot of people are obviously concerned about it."
The flier called for white people to unite, urged people to write to The Creativity Movement/Montana and provided a Web site address.
Similar fliers turned up in November at the Billings Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, a liberal-minded church at 2032 Central Ave.
Billings police have been keeping track of hate mail along with other incidents of vandalism and other crimes that may be tied to hate groups, including several recent assaults.
Kyle Anderson, a member of the Montana Creators Assembly, recently said in an article in The Gazette that the group advocates an all-white society and that MCA is growing. Earlier, he acknowledged that the flier at the Unitarian church was the group's "standard flier."
