Woman dies after rollover crash in Roosevelt County

A 25-year-old woman from Poplar died Wednesday after a rollover crash in Roosevelt County, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The crash on Montana Highway 25 happened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 51, with the nearest town being Wolf Point.

A crash narrative provided by the highway patrol states that the vehicle was westbound on Highway 25 before the vehicle drifted across the center line and went off the south side of the road.

The car went into a broadside slide and overturned multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof, the narrative states.

The woman was the only person in the passenger car and she was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were bare and dry. Speed is not being considered as a suspected factor in the crash but drugs and alcohol are. The investigation into the crash is ongoing. It was unknown Wednesday whether or not the woman who died had been wearing a seat belt before the crash.
