A 48-year-old woman was found dead Saturday morning in the doorway of a Billings business, according to a Billings Police Department press release.

Police received a call about an unresponsive woman lying in the doorway of a business on the 2800 block of First Avenue North at about 7:40 a.m.

Businesses along the 2800 block of First Avenue North include Western Security Bank, 406 Glass and the Monte Bar and Casino.

Detectives investigated and determined there was nothing suspicious on scene and that "the female had been drinking with other transients throughout the night," according to the release written by Sgt. Harley Cagle.

Alcohol and cold weather appear to be contributing factors, and the woman's death remains under investigation, according to the release.
