A Billings woman died Friday morning in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 312.

The Montana Highway Patrol said a Honda passenger car driven by the woman, whose name and age were not released, was eastbound on 312 northeast of Billings, near mile marker 3, at about 10 a.m. when it lost control. The Honda lost control and sideswiped a westbound Chevrolet passenger car and a westbound Ford pickup truck.

The Honda then went into a slide and its driver's side collided with another Ford pickup, according to the Highway Patrol. The driver of the Honda was declared dead at the scene. A young child, who was a passenger in the Honda, was uninjured.

A female passenger in the Chevrolet was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Healthcare as a precautionary measure and was released by noon. No other injuries were reported.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
