Pvt. Tanner Robertson completed basic combat training at Fort Jackson, S.C., with the Delta Company 1-61 Infantry Regiment in the 165th Infantry Brigade. He is receiving his specialized training at Fort Lee, Va., and is an 89B ammunitions specialist and plans on becoming an 11B infantryman or an 89D EOD specialist. He graduated from Hardin High in 2013 and is the son of Tracy and Kristi Robertson, of Hardin.


During the Zonta Club of Billings’ Status of Women in Society and Culture celebration on Wednesday, local women who have been dedicated to providing services to victims who have experienced domestic violence will be honored. They are Jamie Rindahl, president DVAAS; Juli Pierce, deputy chief Yellowstone County Attorney’s office; victim/witness coordinators at Yellowstone County Attorney’s office: Gretchen Schillinger, Sandra Harris, Angeline Fox, Stefani Williams, Martha Aquilar and Brookelyn Conner; victim witness specialists at Billings City Attorney’s office: Karen Benner and Charlee Marsh; Red Lodge Domestic Sexual Violence Services (DSVS): Kelly Heaton, director, and Ashley Strobel, training and outreach coordinator; Officer Katie Nash, Billings Police Department domestic violence investigator; Carrie Wright, SANE Program coordinator; Maria Martin, licensed clinical professional counselor, Passages; Erin Lambert, program director Gateway House; Sister Mary Dostal, founder and co-director Angela’s Piazza; Sister Pat Funderhide, founder and co-director of Angela’s Piazza; Joy Mariska, secretary Billings Area Family Violence Task Force, and Mitzi Vorachek, former executive director, DSVS in Red Lodge. Bryce Curry, a violinist at Billings Senior High, has received an Uri Barnea Music Scholarship, a $1000 award for music excellence. Curry is currently concertmaster for the Billings Senior High Philharmonic Orchestra and the Billings Youth Repertory Orchestra. He plans to attend MSU-Bozeman in the fall.

Maria Fulton has been awarded a 2014 Uri Barnea Music Scholarship. A cellist at Billings Senior High School, Fulton also plays with the Billings Symphony Orchestra. She will be attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., in the fall.

Robert Harcharik, of Billings, a 2009 graduate of Billings West High, earned a place on the fall 2013 dean’s list at the University of Montana in Missoula.

Ashley M. Prouty, of Hardin, has received a $100 Powell German Scholarship and a $300 Rose Southworth Megee Scholarship from the University of Montana. A 2011 Hardin High graduate, she is currently a junior at UM.
