Almost

I photographed the Yellowstone Kennel Club's dog show on Tuesday in the Metra Park Expo center. It is very dark. I had to shoot at 800 ASA which gives me grainy images. I was shooting a slow shutter speed so I decided to do something different. I wanted to shoot these kids competing with their dogs. They would run around the arena fairly fast so I went for the pan shot. This makes the subject look in motion and background blurred. I followed the youngster as he ran and just when I thought the camera was moving at the same speed I shot the photo. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. This time this photo did not. Just as I shot the photo the dog shook off making it too blurred. Oh, well. Maybe next time. I shot this with my Nikon D2X at a 40th of a second at f:4 with my 70-200 f:2.8 VR lens.
