Warm weather lured me once again to Riverfront Park to see if there was anything to photograph for a daily weather feature. I saw Bill Pirami of Billings also shooting images of ducks and geese so I decided to stop and make pictures of Bill, making pictures. Anyway, I used my Nikkor, 500mm f:4 lens knowing I would get a very shallow depth of field. I had the photo in my mind before I even got out of my car. It worked better than I had hoped. The lens really dropped out the water and created this modeled look. One fellow, Gazette employee joked that it looked like I use Photoshop to create this blurred, artsy feel. I did not use Photoshop to do this. My lens and aperture did everything. I also used my Nikon D3 camera body.
