MontanaFair started off with a bang with big concerts inside the Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. I photographed three shows, three nights in a row, each coming together in a different way. The Gazette provided photo galleries on our website from each concert.
On Saturday night I photographed country music star Trace Adkins. The Gazette had sent in paper work in advance to get permission and passes to cover the show. The promoter allowed me to shoot the first three songs, which I did quickly, shooting well over 400 images.
Sunday night I photographed Peter Frampton. I received a phone call Sunday afternoon from someone from the Metra and they asked if I wanted to shoot the show. I accepted on short notice and again was allowed to shoot the first three songs of the show.
Monday night I photographed the biggest show of the weekend, Kelly Clarkson. Although we hadn't asked ahead of time to shoot the concert, the folks at the Metra were able to get me into the show within a days notice. This time though a set of new rules: I could only shoot the first two songs and I could not shoot from the front of the stage. Rules are Rules. I still shot over 400 images.
