During my spring aerial photography season, I try to document unusual scenes I find along the way.

Here, an aerial view shows alkali where is collects along intermittent streams in Hailstone Basin near Ryegate. The alkali is especially visible in the spring, when it contrasts with the surrounding grass and sagebrush.

An aerial view of the Clark Fork River near Paradise, Montana shows the shadow from the contrail of a jet passing overhead.
