The voters of Montana have an opportunity in this election to make the most positive impact for the future of Montana perhaps since statehood was granted by voting yes on CC 2, a call for a Montana Constitutional Convention. The United States Constitution is a brilliant document with concise language that limits government and promotes freedom. Montana’s Constitution is conflicting, ambiguous and has unworkable language. The only way we can expand natural resource development, create jobs, protect the unborn and expand education opportunities and quality is with a repaired state constitution. The conferees will be elected from the same boundaries as a state representative but cannot be a current office holder. Finally, the new Constitution will go to the vote of the people for a final vote of acceptance. Montanans’ income per capita has fallen from near the top to the bottom since the 1972 Constitution was adopted. The current Constitution has been a dream document for trial lawyers and liberal special interest organizations such as the MEIC, ACLU and MEA. Please spread the word. Please share this with all your friends. Truly, this is the most important thing we can do for the future of Montana.
