I would like to thank The Billings Gazette for printing the Jan. 7 guest opinion by Jim Roscoe and Dennis MacDonald concerning our country's problems. They suggested as a solution having an informed electorate that carefully selects leadership to do the right thing.

May I suggest, especially students, participate in the complimentary Big Sky Worldview lecture sessions given monthly right here in Billings. The February program will be Feb. 10-11 at the Holiday Inn Grand Hotel and Convention Center. There is a free lecture (mostly for educators) on Friday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. Then a program dealing with how we can prepare our students to successfully navigate — and influence — our culture from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and continuing from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The guest speaker will be John Stonestreet, the executive director of Summit Ministries and host of "The Point" radio program for the Colson Center. He is from Colorado Springs. This will include how to raise a generation that will do the right things when they are encouraged everywhere to compromise and live for instant gratification.
