We wish to thank Rep. Steve Daines for introducing HR5543 to designate portions of the East Rosebud River as a wild and scenic river. This bill would add 13 miles of the East Rosebud River inside the Beartooth wilderness and seven miles north of East Rosebud Lake within Forest Service boundaries to the wild and scenic rivers act.
The East Rosebud is arguably the most scenic river in Montana as it nestles under the pristine Beartooth range and Montana's highest mountain, Granite Peak. The East Rosebud draws thousands of backpackers, fishermen and campers worldwide. Designation of wild and scenic will set aside the river for recreational uses for generations to come and prohibit damming the river for insignificant power production.
Thank to Steve Daines and be sure to give him your vote this November.
