I am so frustrated with government in general. I heard that President Barack Obama doesn't think three years is long enough to evaluate the environmental impact of the Keystone pipeline. Even the State Department says there's no significant risk to the environment. There is some risk with everything we do. If we need a 100 percent guarantee before acting, we shouldn't get out of bed in the morning!
There has to be a balance between protecting the environment and taking care of people. Obviously the environment can't provide resources for our needs unless we take care of it first. However, being overly protective frequently delays or disallows the use or development of resources necessary for our existence and well being.
Keystone is also the type of project that would bring good, high-paying jobs to us hardworking Montanans. Apparently Steve Daines agrees with me, so I'll be voting for him in November.
