I told myself a while ago that if The Billings Gazette published any more pictures of dead animals, I would write a letter to the editor. Well, The Gazette really outdid itself on Aug. 28 with the photo of the burned, dead llama on the front page. I almost lost my breakfast. How terrible it was for readers to see this sad photo.
I have loved and buried dogs and a horse in my life, and I cannot imagine what the owners felt when they saw that picture. I know I would not want to see any of my animals like that. Why must The Gazette publish photos like that? Does that increase the paper's circulation with shock value? The Gazette should be disgusted with itself. I am!
