On behalf of everyone involved in celebrating the East Rosebud River, I'd like to thank The Billings Gazette for the wonderful coverage it afforded us in Sunday's paper. We believe strongly in trying to preserve the East and West Rosebud Rivers by working diligently to protect them from further commercialism and other threats.
As Sunday's article pointed out, this is not the first time an entity has tried to build a hydro project on the East Rosebud. When we first heard of the application for this dam, we retrieved all our records from the early 1980s when the Stillwater Protective Association successfully fought back a similar project on the East Rosebud.
Good thing that, with time, the area has only grown more valued and precious to us who live, visit and recreate along its banks. It is very heartwarming to know so many will come together to protect this valley.
Come help us celebrate one of Montana's natural treasures on June 30!
