This is in response to Jack Copps and the School District 2 trustees. Many red flags appeared instantly when I read the article about SD2 receiving a letter from club president Bryan Stiller with an interest in purchasing Highland School. I feel, as a former student of SD2 who attended Highland School kindergarten to second grade, that Copps and trustees should decline the offer.
That golf course is plenty big enough and, besides, Stiller should look at other options. I'm very curious about how Stiller believes that purchasing the school would benefit the golf course, the neighborhood and SD2.
Highland is a unique school just as Garfield was. I pray nothing ever happens to Senior where I not only virtually dwelled when not at work, but graduated!
Copps and trustees need to use their heads very wisely in the proposed decision they may be making in the future. After all, Copps and Stiller need to consider the matter as a whole! What's more important? Keeping our lovely Highland School to continue to educate our young or having a bigger golf course? You tell me!
