You can't compare nonprofit to corporate for-profit health care. My experience is the VA and Deering Clinic are far superior than the corporates all because of money. There is no concern for profits, only the care of the patient. If you need a test, you don't wonder if the insurance will pay or not. You are tested without question. They are more efficient because of their computer system - no repeat test from different doctors.
I could go on, but bottom line is, call it socialized or welfare or anti-capitalist or anything you want, you are paying big bucks for an inferior service in the name of profit. I'll take the VA any day, and they are only getting better.
