This is in regards to the story in the sports page concerning Amanda LaMar. As a coach, she needs to make the best decisions for the team to win as she can. The two girls who went to FFA convention, in my opinion, were not being punished. They weren't prepared because of the changes in the defense that had been practiced the week they were gone. The parents should have been told to back off. The school should have backed LaMar as a coach instead of suspending her. According to the story, LaMar was suspended because she wouldn't start the girls the next game.

LaMar should never have been suspended as a teacher. Coaching and teaching are two different things. Why in the world would she be suspended as a teacher when it was a coaching issue to begin with?

What is the Richey school district thinking? I hope LaMar gets her questions answered to her satisfaction and gets an apology from the school district.

If every coach who made a player sit out because of an absence got suspended, then they are letting players and their parents tell them who should play. This would not be fair to other students who work hard to be able to play.
