There is no issue more important to Montana this legislative session than Medicaid expansion.
It will help 70,000 hard working Montanans access affordable health care. It will help 9,500 veterans. It will help our rural hospitals. It will help our urban hospitals. It will help keep health care costs down for all of us. It will bring $1.96 million of Montana tax dollars back to our state. It will create 12,000 good paying jobs.
It will help people struggling with mental illness get help and ease the pressure on local fire, police and emergency rooms when those issues become a crisis. It will help more than 13,000 people between the ages of 50-64 who don't qualify for Medicare and whose children are grown. It will help people who can only work part time because they are caring for a sick or disabled family member.
Please contact your legislator and tell him or her to pass Medicaid expansion. It is the right thing to do for all of us.
